Tell us what you do
I spend most of my time talking (too much) and engaging with all our partners and schools. Ensuring that the materials we have are up to date and relevant for the programme. Talking about what we do on social media. I also walk my dog and nag my teenagers to read more!
Best bits
Watching children change their views about reading from it being a chore to being something they genuinely love and watching the older pupils talking to the younger ones and sharing a joke.
What are you reading?
I tend to have a few books on the go and have just finished Binti by Nnedi Okorafor. I also have the Romanovs by Simon Sebag-Montefiore by my bed, I’m re-reading Agnes Grey by Anne Bronte plus Call of the Wild by Jack London with my son.
What inspires you?
I get to talk to lots of people in my job and I am always amazed by how passionate people are about what they do and hearing them talk reminds me why I do what I do and inspires me. I also like listening to Radio 4 because there is always a programme on about something totally random so you get to learn whilst doing daily chores.
